AUTH is the largest Greek University, consisting of 45 Departments covering all scientific & technological disciplines and has ~ 100,000 students. The Physics Department of AUTh with the Lab for Thin Films- Nanosystems & Nanometrology (LTFN) Lab are internationally acknowledged as specialist in Organic Electronics (OEs), Thin Films and Nanomaterials Technology, Nanometrology and in novel optical monitoring techniques for quality control. Its unique know-how and expertise includes the development and optimization of polymer and small molecule organic semiconductors, inorganic & polymer transparent electrodes as well as barrier nano-layers for device encapsulation onto rigid and flexible polymeric substrates. LTFN core competences include the thin film deposition by vacuum, printing (roll-to-roll and inkjet) and gas transport pilot lines. It has excellence on in-line and real-time optical sensing techniques and modelling to correlate synthesis parameters, film morphology and functional properties. LTFN has strong collaborations and worldwide networks, coordinates many EU & National projects, a cluster on OE and organizes International Conferences, Summer Schools and Exhibitions on Nanotechnology and OEs.
